... SECOND INNINGS ...

!
Australia have been bowled out for 416! They could only add 77 runs to their overnight score and lost 5 wickets in the process. Having started the day at their overnight score of 339-5, Australia were dealt twin blows in the first half hour, losing Alex Carey and Mitchell Starc. The loss of wickets at the other end did not perturb Steven Smith who brought up his 8th hundred in England. However, he could not carry on and fell prey to a loose shot. Nathan Lyon and Josh Hazlewood had the liberty to play their shots but were not able to frustrate the English bowlers. As far as England are concerned, Ben Stokes will be pretty happy with the fight shown by his bowlers this morning. They did not allow Australia to run away with the game and were rewarded for much-disciplined bowling. Playing in his maiden Ashes Test, Josh Tongue was the standout bowler with 3 wickets. With around 20 minutes of play remaining before Lunch, the England openers have a tricky job on their hands.

100.4Wto Josh Hazlewood
OUT! TAKEN! Ollie Robinson picks up the final wicket and Australia have been bowled out before Lunch on day 2. Short of a good length, angling across the left-hander. Josh Hazlewood backs away a touch and has a slash at it. The ball takes the outside edge and flies past the keeper. Joe Root at first slip though does well to get his hands over his head and holds on to a sharp chance. Australia are all out for 416 runs!

98.4Wto Nathan Lyon
OUT! CAUGHT! Ollie Robinson has the last laugh here and England are now one wicket away from bowling Australia out. Robinson bangs it in short again but this time it is a bumper and a well-directed one as well. It is around head height and Nathan Lyon looks to take it on. Lyon is in no control of the hook shot and ends up hitting it aerially down to fine leg. Josh Tongue there takes a safe catch and Australia have now lost their nineth wicket.
