Paris: Paris Saint-Germain coach Carlo Ancelotti on Tuesday paid tribute to Nick Broad, describing the member of the club's backroom staff, who was killed in a road accident last week, as "a friend" who did "a fantastic job."

"He was a friend, always very professional with his work," the Italian told a press conference.

"He did a fantastic job here. That's life, we will look to the future, but it has not been easy to work the last few days."

Englishman Broad, 38, was working as PSG's Performance Manager. He was killed last Thursday evening when his car was struck by another vehicle on a motorway near the French capital.

He had previously worked under Ancelotti at Chelsea, as well as at Blackburn Rovers and Birmingham City.

Following Broad's death, PSG had made a request for their match at Bordeaux on Sunday to be postponed, only for the authorities to refuse.

PSG won the match 1-0.

"It wasn't easy on Sunday," added Ancelotti. "I think what the players did was extraordinary.

"We didn't play well but the players made a lot of sacrifices in order to play. They showed a lot of character."
