Indian wrestler Bajrang Punia on Friday posted a video of his mother, Om Pyari Punia, on his social media account, and also shared an important message. In the short clip shared on Bajrang Punia's Twitter handle, his mother can be seen working out on an 'exercise bike' in a salwar kameez and a bandana headband. In the caption, the wrestler wrote a message from his mother in Hindi, where she urges her fellow countrymen to stay at home, workout, and be safe amid the COVID-19 lockdown.Â

The Commonwealth Games gold medallist often uses different social media platforms to spread information and awareness related to the COVID-19 pandemic. A few days ago, he shared a message on Instagram for those not being able to quarantine at home, and needing a bed.Â
From March to mid-April, the 27-year-old had removed all social media apps from his phone to focus on the upcoming Tokyo 2020 Olympics. However, the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country forced him to get back to social media again, as he wanted to utilise his time by providing his followers as much information as possible related to COVID-19.Â

Earlier, Punia had shared a video of himself working out for the Tokyo Olympics, which is slated to be held later this year.Â
In April, Punia was forced to pull out of the Asian Wrestling Championships final after suffering a niggle in his elbow. After he withdrew, Takuto Otoguro of Japan was awarded the gold medal and the Indian had to be satisfied with the silver medal.
