"We seem to be cruising a little bit," Smith told the media after the South Africans cantered to the quarterfinal with a convincing 131-run win over Ireland on Tuesday night.
"But there are a lot of teams which can win in the quarterfinals, where we have the best teams in the world. Each team is going to get itself very good in the knockout phase," he said.
"I think it will be unpredictable and you have to perform on the day really well," Smith told a questioner.
With eight points from five games, South Africa are aiming to top the group by defeating Bangladesh in their last group B match at Dhaka March 19. The top team from Group B would take on the fourth placed side from Group A in the last eight round.
