World Cup Bests
The World Cup gives an opportunity to cricketers to prove their mettle at the highest level. It is the trophy which matters the most and hence players try to excel in all departments of the game to come up trumps.
Over the years, batsmen, bowlers, wicket-keepers and fielders have all performed at the highest level and some of them have done it better than the rest.

Most Wickets: Glenn McGrath - 71 wickets
The Aussie paceman has produced several menacing spells to climb to the top of the tree amongst wicket-takers in the World Cup. His 71 wickets in 39 matches have come at an outstanding average of 18.19 and at a miserly economy rate of 3.96 runs per over.

Most Hundreds: Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Mark Waugh and Ricky Ponting - 4 hundreds each
The four batsmen are tied for the top spot with 4 tons to each of their names. Ganguly though has achieved the feat in the least number of matches (21).

Highest Individual score: Gary Kirsten - 188 not out
The South African opener and now Team India coach played the mammoth knock against minnows and newcomers UAE at Rawalpindi during a group match in the 1996 World Cup.
His knock was studded with 13 boundaries and 4 maximums and came in 159 balls.

Highest Partnership: Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid - 318 runs
The young Indian duo was at its best against the Sri Lankans as they tore apart the bowling attack to post a record-breaking 2nd-wicket partnership at Taunton. While Ganguly (183) was the aggressor, Dravid (145) played the role of the second fiddle with elan.
