Andy Murray's presence in the men's final of Wimbledon has sent ticket prices soaring to 70,000 Pounds-a-pair. Expected to further increase before the start of the title clash against Novak Djokovic.

Seeded 1 and 2, Novak Djokovic and local hope Andy Murray will clash at the All England Club on Sunday with the winner crowned the 2013 men's singles Wimbledon champion.

Along with the high expectations riding on Murray to become Britain's first men's champion since Fred Perry in 1936, are the high ticket prices for a pair of Centre Court tickets.

According to a report in The Guardian, ticket prices for the final has soared to record levels, with resale websites asking upwards of £70,000 for a pair of tickets.

The All England Lawn Tennis Club chief executive, Richard Lewis, said that demand for tickets for the Djokovic-Murray clash had broken all records. Officials reportedly stopped people from joining the ticket queue earlier than ever before. (Also read: Battle of the WAGs)

According to Viagogo, a high-profile ticket resale website, prices had risen by 412 per cent in the last couple of days. "At the moment, the top price of a pair of tickets stands at £71,000 but we expect to see this ceiling smashed ahead of Sunday's final," the Viagogo director Ed Parkinson said.

With the excitement building all over Britain and a nation's hopes pinned on Murray, the hottest ticket in town is an expensive proposition.
