Rahul Dravid walked in and was the epitome of focus from the first ball. He completed his 13,000 runs in Test cricket soon after.

It was Ravi Rampaul who finally managed to break a 71-run 2nd wicket partnership when he dismissed Gambhir on 55.

Wankhede erupted at the wicket as it was a sign of their hero to grace the ground with his presence. Sachin Tendulkar was welcomed to the middle by the fans with a whole lot of cheer.

Sachin joined Dravid at the crease and made the most of the supportive track here.

The two put on 86 runs for the third wicket as Sachin went on to complete his half-century, a sign of greater things to come.
Zoom
It was Marlon Samuels who brought an end to the stand when he got the better of Dravid and found the stumps with his slow spin.

Sachin did not lose focus and was well-supported by VVS Laxman, the next man at the crease after Dravid. The two took India to 281 at close of play, with Sachin unbeaten on 67.
