Indian shooters Md. Asab, Ankur Mittal and Sangram Dahiya failed to qualify for the finals of men's double trap event at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup for Shotgun in San Marino on Monday.
A 14th-place finish by Asab was the best Indian performance of the day. Asab shot a score of 134 out of a possible 150 in the qualification rounds. Ankur Mittal was placed 22nd after shooting 132 while Sangram Dahiya, the third Indian in the fray, shot 131 to finish 28th.
Today was the third day of competition and three finals have been scheduled thus far. After today there are two more finals spread over two more days of competition where medals for the men's and women's skeet shooting competition will be decided.
Indian interests will now lie with Man Singh, Smit Singh and Sheeraz Sheikh in the men's Skeet while Maheshwari Chauhan and Rashmee Rathore will represent the country in the women's event.
