India defeated South Africa by seven runs and clinched the T20 World Cup 2024 title, ending the 11-year-old ICC title drought. After India's memorable win, skipper Rohit Sharma said, "Someone just told me that 'in 2007 you started your journey with the World Cup and now you are leaving after winning the World Cup,' so that's a tailor-made situation for me. My journey started in 2007 when I went to Ireland for a 50-over series but immediately after that, we went to South Africa for the T20 World Cup. We won over there and now this. It's like a full circle, so I am very happy."
