Manipur finds solace in baseball
Manipur has been a state that has long been associated with political unrest. However, a documentary by an American filmmaker is set to change all that as it traces the evolution of baseball in the region. The origins of baseball go back to World War II when Allied forces had their bases in near the Manipur-Burma border. They mingled with the locals, hence promoting their favourite pastime, baseball. Hopefully once this documentary is made, it will give people the chance to look at Manipur in a new light altogether.
