Avadesh Kumar appointed president of Volleyball federation
Kuldeep Vats and Kumar were set to engage in a straight fight for the post of VFI president but the former withdrew from the field before the elections this morning. There were no contest in the other remaining posts.

Chaudhary Avadesh Kumar was elected unopposed as president of Volleyball Federation of India after Kuldeep Vats withdrew his candidature before the polls here on Sunday.
Vats and Kumar were set to engage in a straight fight for the post of VFI president but the former withdrew from the field before the elections this morning. There were no contest in the other remaining posts.
Justice (retd.) S K Krishnan was the returning officer for the elections.
Former Secretary of the VFI, K Murugan was appointed the CEO.
Following were the other office bearers elected today:
Executive Vice Prtesident: Raj Kumar (Punjab)
Secretary: Ramavtar Singh Jakhar (Rajasthan)
Treasurer: Rathan Roy Chaudhury (Bengal)
Vice Presidents: S Kothandaraman (AP), Lokesh Gowda (Karnataka), Shekhar Bose (Jharkhand), Vijay Dangre (Maharashtar), Bhupen Kumar Borah (Assam), Irvin Soares (Goa).
Associate Secretaries: Mohd. Akram Khan (Chhattisgarh) and K Nandakumar (Karnataka)
Joint Secretaries: R R Patel (Gujarat), Sube Singh (Haryana), B L Malhotra (Chandigarh), Prof Nalakath Basheer (Kerala), Sunil Kumar Tiwari (UP), P K Mohanty (Orissa) and V Ravikanth Reddy (AP).
