Saurav Ghosal enters quarters of Windy City Open squash; Dipika Pallikal ousted

India's Saurav Ghosal caused a major upset when he beat higher-ranked Tarek Momen of Egypt to enter the quarterfinals of the PSA Windy City Open squash tournament, here.
World No.17 Ghosal overcame a stiff challenge before prevailing over 12th-ranked Momen 11-9 3-11 11-4 11-7 in the USD 115,000 PSA World Tour International event at the University Club of Chicago last night.
It was Ghosal's first major win of 2014, and he will take on another Egyptian and fourth seed Mohamed Elshorbagy in the quarters.
"Won 3-1 in a really good match against Tarek today. I thought it was going to be a battle and it didn't disappoint! Happy to be through," Ghosal tweeted after his match.
"Playing Mohammed El Shorbagy in the quarters. We have had some good matches in the past. Time to be prepared for another big one!" wrote India's numero uno male squash player.
However, in the women's event, India's Dipika Pallikal lost a tough first round battle against Low Wee Wern of Malaysia in the USD 50,000 WSA event.
Pallikal, world No.10, lost 5-11 11-8 7-11 14-12 6-11 against fifth seed Wern in a battle lasting 80 minutes.
