Jharkhand boxers dominate in women's quarters
Host Jharkhand dominated the quarter-final round of the women's boxing event by winning all the bouts it fought in the 34th National Games at the JRD Tata Sports Complex here on Tuesday.

Host Jharkhand dominated the quarter-final round of the women's boxing event by winning all the bouts it fought in the 34th National Games at the JRD Tata Sports Complex here on Tuesday.
Jharkhand also launched the men's quarterfinal campaign on a winning note with Amit Karki (69kg) drubbing Geetanand of Himachal Pradesh 6-0 to sail into the next round.
In the women's section, Aruna Mishra (69kg) outclassed Lal Ramliani of Mizoram to enter the semifinals.
International Laxmi Padeya, who won gold in the senior national championship in Kerala in December last, registered an emphatic win over Jagmeet Kaur of Uttarakhand in the Heavy weight category (81kg). Padeya moved into the last four.
Besides Jharkhand, Haryana was the other team to register victories in the men's and women's section of the quarterfinal.
Among the men, nine-time national champion Dilbag Singh (69kg) of Haryana defeated Lakhbir of Punjab 3-2 to enter the semifinal.
