Michael Phelps continued his amazing form by securing his second gold medal in the 2016 Rio Olympics as he won the 200m butterfly individual swimming event. It was Phelps' 20th individual gold medal.
Phelps, who had won the 4X100m relay event, secured the 200m butterfly event after some fierce competition from Japan's Masato Sakai to touch the wall in 1min 53.36. Tamas Kenderesi of Hungary won the bronze.
Phelps continued his incredible run by bagging his 21st gold medal of his incredible Olympic career, anchoring the United States to victory in the 4x200m freestyle relay.
Phelps, who had produced a superb victory in the 200m butterfly, led the United States home for a win in 7min 0.66sec.
Phelps, who turned 31 in June, is the oldest in terms of competitive swimming. Over the past 10 editions of the Olympics, the oldest athlete to swim in the finals for the same events in which Phelps is scheduled to compete has been 29 years old, with the average age just under 22 years old.
