Vijay Kumar stunned the world of shooting to claim his first and India's 22nd Olympic medal - taking the silver in the 25m rapid fire pistol event. While India erupted in celebration at bagging the second medal of London Olympics, Vijay's father told NDTV that his son was sure of his success.
Speaking minutes after Vijay shot 30 in a 8-series final, Mr Kumar said that his son went to the Olympics with a lot of confidence. "I spoke to him and he sounded calm. Hew told me he will get a medal today. He was not sure which one but he said he will get one for sure," said the retired subedar.
He also said that since his son's success in USA where he took a silver in the World Cup, Vijay has been delivering consistently but that his latest achievement will be his most special and the same holds true for the entire family.
