India's Sushil Kumar fought his final bout in the Olympics 2012, suffering from dehydration and a stomach bug. He however, managed to display good fighting technique against Japan's Tatsuhiro Yonemitsu and though he lost the bout, told NDTV that he wished he could hear the national anthem at the ExCel Arena here.

While he received a bye in the opening round, Sushil fought past three opponents to earn a shot at Gold. His semifinal match against Kazakhstan's Akzhurek Tanatarov was the closest and though the wrestler from Haryana sealed the match in his favour, it took quite a lot out from him.

Coming into the final bout, Sushil lost the opening round and managed to claim a single point from the second. He looked to challenge Yonemitsu - Asian Games gold medalist - but the Japanese came out stronger. A brave Sushil however did not wish to give his health as an excuse for not winning the Gold. "Injuries are part and parcel of the game. But I would have loved to hear the national anthem here. The Golden days of wrestling (however) are back," he told NDTV after the bout.
