Beach Volleyball:

India has a vast coastline but this sport has not found much takers here, professionally speaking. (AFP image)

The sport is much like volleyball, with some differences like two players instead of an entire team. And no, bikinis are not compulsory and men can play too. In fact men are playing the sport in this edition of the Olympics too. (AFP image)

Equestrian:

The Equestrian Federation of India does exist and we have participated in some international events. This sport however continues to be unknown to a large number of people in India. (AFP image)

Fencing:

Did you know? There is a Fencing Association of India. Very few however can successfully argue that the sport is well known in the country.

The sport itself is also called modern fencing to separate it from historical fencing. (AFP image)

There are three kinds of weapons used in fencing. These are foil, epee and sabre.

Canoeing: This may remind people in India of Manali. A popular adventure sport in the country, professional reach of this sport remains rather limited.

White water rafting as it is called here, is a sport currently being contested for glory and medals in the Olympics. Wonder if the adventure junkies in India can consider fulfilling their passion on a more regular basis, with training of course, so that India's chances further increase in the Games to come.
