A local government district in Dorset, this area consists of the resort of Weymouth and the Isle of Portland. The district was formed in 1974 and is a popular tourist spot.
Sailing will take place in Weymouth and Portland, located along the southern coast of England about 140 miles southwest of London.
Competition will take place in five subsets of the water: Portland Harbour, Nothe, Weymouth Bay West, Weymouth Bay South and Weymouth Bay East. The area was primarily chosen because of a sailing academy which was built here recently.
