About Water Polo Arena at South east corner of the Olympic Park
The temporary Water Polo Arena is located next to the Olympic Stadium and sits alongside the Aquatics Centre in one of the most compact areas of the Olympic Park.
During the Games, it will host the men's and women's water polo competitions, and the venue will contain a warm-up pool and competition pool.
The construction for this temporary structure began early 2011 and it was envisaged as a place that could seat close to 5000 people. In addition to the main seating and competing area, there is also space for catering, broadcasters and security equipments and personnel.
Two factors that make this venue stand out is that it is for the first time a venue has been built specifically for water-polo in the Olympics and that once the Games are over, the structure will be brought down but the elements used to build it will be re-used.
