About Water Polo Arena at South east corner of the Olympic Park
The Velodrome is situated in the north of the Olympic Park and will host track cycling. Part of the London Velopark, it was the first venue to be completed for the London Olympics.
The work here was started in 2009 with an estimated budget of around 105 million pounds. By February 2011, the facility was complete energy efficient roof-lights, windows all around for a view of the Olympic Park and natural ventilation so that the need for air conditioning may be kept to the minimum.
Also called 'the Pringle,' its lower tier will have 3,500 seats around the track and 2,500 more will be suspended in two upper tiers within the two curves of the roof. The 250m track was made of Siberian Pine.
