The shooting competition will take place on the site of the historic Royal Artillery Barracks in southeast London.
Located in the port of Woolwich, construction of the barracks began in 1775 and was completed by 1802. It boasts of the longest continuous Georgian building facade in the United Kingdom.
While the shooting event was initially planned to be held elsewhere, it was decided that the Royal Artillery Barracks would be the final choice and the site was given a budget of 18 million pounds.
The site will be handed back to the Ministry of Defense at the conclusion of the Games.
