About Manjeet Singh and Sandeep Kumar:
For Manjeet Singh and Sandeep Kumar, who have qualified in the Rowing (lightweight double sculls) for the London Olympics, it would be all about teamwork when their events begin.
For Rowing veteran Manjeet, this is his second Olympics and the experience will come in extremely handy for the pair. After Bajrang Lal Takhar won the medal at the 2010 Asian Games, things have started to brighten up in Indian rowing. Better facilities, imported boats and balanced diet, all are taken care of by the federation.
May be the Hussain Sagar Lake in Hyderabad does not match the Olympic standards but the pair is not willing to make excuses and are preparing hard to impress at the Games.
Manjeet Singh qualified with Devendra Kumar for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. It was Sandeep Kumar, though, this time and the pair came third in the qualifiers in Chung Ju, Korea, lagging behind Japan and Hong Kong rowers.
Pitted against European nations and other far superior countries, Olympics will be an uphill task for the Indians but some luck and determination just might turn everything around.
