London 2012 Wrestling: Russia's Natalia Vorobieva wins women's 72kg gold

Russia's Natalia Vorobieva won the women's freestyle wrestling 72kg gold medal after defeating Bulgaria's Stanka Zlateva Hristova in the final at London's Excel Arena on Thursday.

Russia's Natalia Vorobieva won the women's freestyle wrestling 72kg gold medal after defeating Bulgaria's Stanka Zlateva Hristova in the final at London's Excel Arena on Thursday.

For the 21-year-old Vorobieva, victory gave her a gold medal at her first Olympics but this was a second straight silver for five-time world champion Hristova, the beaten finalist in Beijing four years ago.

The bronze medals went to Guzel Manyurova of Kazakhstan and Spain's Maider Unda.
