London:
The Netherlands will face Germany in the Olympic field hockey final for the first time after demolishing Britain 9-2 at the Riverbank Arena.
The Dutch or the Germans have won four of the last five Olympics but Europe's best teams have never met for the gold medal until now.
Roderick Weusthof scored twice in the first 14 minutes, Britain's Ashley Jackson halved the deficit, then the crowd of 16,000 sat back and watched as the Dutch put on a show of ruthless artistry.
Billy Bakker scored a hat trick, Weusthof completed his, five-time Olympian Teun de Nooijer tapped in for one, and Mink van der Weerden and captain Floris Evers also scored. Robert Moore bagged a late field goal for Britain.
