International Olympic Committee officials are in Rio de Janeiro to inspect the city's preparations for the 2016 Games as organizers get ready to announce the designer of the Olympic golf course.
Local organizers on Wednesday will reveal who they have picked to design the first Olympic golf course in more than 100 years. IOC members will be present at the site where the course will be built.
Among the eight design finalists are Jack Nicklaus, Greg Norman and Gary Player.
The IOC's three-day visit to review Rio's Olympic project began on Tuesday with meetings between IOC members, city officials and delegates of the Rio 2016 organizing committee.
Six IOC members made the trip to Rio, including commission leader Nawal El Moutawakel and IOC executive director Gilbert Felli.
