Nashville, Tennessee:

The United States were eliminated from Olympic qualifying after Jaime Alas scored in stoppage time to secure El Salvador a 3-3 draw on Monday.

The USA had needed a win against El Salvador to remain alive in the CONCACAF zone qualifying tournament for the 2012 London Games.

Joe Corona scored in the 68th minute for a 3-2 lead and the Americans appeared to be headed to Saturday's semi-finals before El Salvador fought back, with Alas' shot deflecting off the hands of goalkeeper Sean Johnson and into the back of the net.

This was just the second time since 1976 the USA would miss the Olympics, while El Salvador, which won through to the semi-finals, will be trying to qualify for the Games for the first time since 1968.
