IND vs NZ LIVE: Latest update on Christchurch weather
It's still raining at the Hagley Oval, Christchurch. To be honest, a resumption anytime soon really tough. This match might be even called off. However, for that decision to take place, we have some more time remaining. Keep your fingers crossed and stay connected for latest updates.
It is worth noting that for the DLS method to be used to decide the result of the game, New Zealand need to play at least 20 overs. They are way ahead of the DLS score, but they still need to play two overs to make it active.
It was drizzling at the beginning at Hagley Oval in Christchurch, before heavy rain took over to see the match being halted. Now, it is raining steadily.
Rain has stopped play in Christchurch. New Zealand are 104 for 1 in 18 overs and they need 116 more to win off the remaning 32 over to win the game. It seems like a cakewalk for them from here.
A six from Finn Allen over long-off and with it he races to his half-century. He started his innings a bit carefully, struggled to time the ball, rode his luck but then gained confidence and eventually races to his fifty.
Devon Conway has also put his foot on the accelerator now. He hit Deepak Chahar for two consecutive fours down the ground before hitting the third one from the cover region for a four.
A poor delivery down the leg stump from Arshdeep Singh and Finn Allen accepts the offering with both his hands. The Kiwi batter flicked it for an easy four to the left of wicketkeeper for a four. It was so fine that the fielder at deep had no chance.
IND vs NZ LIVE: Magical bowling from Arshdeep Singh!
Arshdeep Singh has been brilliant in the first three deliveries of his first over. He is extracting some great amount of swing from the ball and Devon Conway is literally clueless while playing him.
Finn Allen and Devon Conway start the New Zealand innings. Allen will take the strike while his partner will stand at the other end. Deepak Chahar will open the bowling for India. Here we go!
Washington Sundar has lost his wicket for 51 runs on the ball of Tim Southee and that's the end of the Indian innings. They have scored only 219 runs, which is definitely not a good score, but if visitors can bowl well, we will have a good game in the second innings.
Wow! Deepak Chahar has hit Daryl Mitchell for a six. This is some quality hitting from Deepak Chahar. It's his second six of the innings. The first one had also come on the ball of Mitchell only.
Good shot from Washington Sundar this is! It was a short ball from Tim Southee outside off stump and Sundar pulled it for a four towards deep mid-wicket. The Indian southpaw is looking well settled at the crease.
Deepak Hooda is gone! It's a good review from New Zealand that awards them the lucky wicket. Tim Southee bowled a short ball on good height down the leg side. Hooda missed his pull and umpire gave it a wide. An unconvinced New Zealand skipper went for a review and UltraEdge confirmed there was a spike when the ball passed Hooda's bat.
This is a big fish for New Zealand! Shreyas Iyer misses his fifty, falls for 49 on the ball of Lockie Ferguson. India are five down and in some real trouble. Talking in detail about the wicket, Iyer got a fuller delivery outside off stump and decided to go for a big one, but he edged the ball directly into the hands of Devon Conway at sweeper cover.
A tad short and well outside off stump from Adam Milne and Shreyas Iyer didn't miss the opportunity to score. He hit the ball over the backward point for a four.
