IPL 2022 Auction Highlights: Avesh Khan Most Expensive Uncapped Player Ever, Ishan Kishan Remains Biggest Buy For This Season

IPL Auction 2022 Highlights: Avesh Khan became the most expensive uncapped player ever thanks to Lucknow Super Giants while Ishan Kishan continued to remain the most expensive buy for this season so far after Mumbai Indians picked him up for Rs 15.25 crore on Day 1 of the IPL 2022 mega auction.
IPL Auction 2022 Highlights: Avesh Khan became the most expensive uncapped player in the history of Indian Premier League (IPL) after being picked up by Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 10 crore. Other uncapped players Shahrukh Khan, Rahul Tewatia, Rahul Tripathi, Abhishek Sharma and Dewald Brevis earned big too. Capped all-rounders Deepak Chahar and Shardul Thakur, fast bowlers Lockie Ferguson and Prasidh Krishna got big bucks on Day 1 of IPL 2022 auction. Ishan Kishan, however, continued to remain the most expensive buy so far after Mumbai Indians picked him up for Rs 15.25 crore. Chahar went for Rs 14 crore to CSK while Ferguson and Krishna were picked up for Rs 10 crore each by Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals respectively.
Sunrisers Hyderabad sprang in a surprise by roping in Nicholas Pooran for a whopping 10.75 crore. Krunal Pandya and Mitchell Marsh were the other big picks after the IPL 2022 auction resumed. The event was halted as auctioneer Hugh Edmeades collapsed mid-way through it. Charu Sharma conducted the event from there on. Sri Lanka all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga was bought by RCB for Rs 10.75 crore. Earlier, Harshal Patel was bought for the same amount by Royal Challengers Bangalore after Rajasthan Royals started the second round with a bang by picking up Shimron Hetmyer and Devdutt Padikkal.
Shreyas Iyer was sold to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for a whopping Rs 12.25 crore after Shikhar Dhawan, Kagiso Rabada went to Punjab Kings for Rs 8.25 crore and 9.25 crore respectively. Other big names like David Warner, Mohammed Shami were picked up by Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans respectively while Faf du Plessis was bought for Rs 7 crore by RCB.

Sandeep Lamichhane Goes Unsold
The last player drafted on Day 1 of IPL auction Nepal leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane, base price of Rs 40 lakh, goes unsold.
Uncapped spinner R Sai Kishore, who has been in tremendous form in domestic cricket in the last couple of seasons, has been picked up by Lucknow Super Giant for Rs 3 crore. His base price was of Rs 20 lakh.
Ishan Porel sold to PBKS for Rs 25 lakh and Tushar Deshpande has been picked up by Chennai Super Kings Rs 20 lakh. Ankit Rajpoot joins Lucknow Super Giant for Rs 50 lakh.
Right-arm pacer Avesh Khan, who had a really productive season with the Delhi Capitals last year, has been picked up for Rs 10 crore by Lucknow Super Giants. His base price was Rs 20 lakh. Avesh is now the highest paid uncapped cricketer in the history of IPL.
Young right-arm pacer Kartik Tyagi, who last played for Rajasthan Royals, has been picked up for Rs 4 crore by Sunrisers Hyderabad who won a bidding war with Chennai Super Kings. His base price was Rs 20 lakh.
Uncapped Prabhsimran Singh, base price of Rs 20 lakh, has been sold to Punjab Kings for Rs 60 lakh. He represented PBKS even in the last edition of IPL.
Uncapped right-arm pacer Shivam Mavi, base price of Rs 40 lakh, has been picked up by Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 7.25 crore. He represented KKR in last three seasons and did a fairly decent job for the Kolkata-based franchise.
IPL 2022 Auction: M Shahrukh Khan Gets Massive Price
Uncapped Tamil Nadu all-rounder M Shahrukh Khan, base price of Rs 40 lakh, who earned his maiden India call-up recently during the recent West Indies series, has been picked up for Rs 9 crore by Punjab Kings. This is the second highest price paid to an uncapped cricketer in IPL history. There was a quite a battle between Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings for Shahrukh but in the end, PBKS managed to win him back.
Uncapped all-rounder Abhishek Sharma, who previously played for Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad, will return to SRH after being picked up for a whopping Rs 6.5 crore.
Right-handed top-order batter Rahul Tripathi, base price of Rs 40 lakh, goes for a whopping Rs 8.50 crore to Sunrisers Hyderabad. He has been a consistent performer in the IPL first for Rising Pune Supergiants, Rajasthan Royals and then the Kolkata Knight Riders.
South Africa's Dewald Brevis, who impressed one and all with his strokeplay in the recently-concluded U19 World Cup and even earned the nickname "Baby AB" for his similarities with the way AB de Villiers' play, has been picked up for Rs 3 crore by Mumbai Indians. His base price was Rs 20 lakh.
Abhinav Manohar Sadarangani, remember the name cricket fans. He has been picked up for Rs 2.6 crore from a base price of Rs 20 lakh. Gujarat Titans have decided to pick the Karnataka batter who had made heads turn in his debut season last year in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
India leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has been picked up by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 6.5 crore. Chahal brings in the experience and the ability to pick wickets in white-ball cricket.
