1: GANGULY'S CAPTAINCY FOR PUNE
When you have Dada, you have drama. Which is what makes this IPL a must watch. Sourav Ganguly returns not only as a player but even as a Captain. And even though Pune will miss Yuvraj Singh, Dada is sure to bring in the crowds.
2: SACHIN FOR MUMBAI INDIANS
With the 100th 100 out of the way, Sachin Tendulkar's attitude and performance in the IPL is a mouth- watering aspect. Also it would be interesting to see if they turn out to be third time lucky as they earlier have come agonisingly close to the IPL trophy but failed in the finals twice.
3: DRAVID AS CAPTAIN OF RAJASTHAN
Rajasthan Royals appointed Rahul Dravid as Shane Warne's replacement. But just three months later the man retired from international cricket. In such circumstances it would interesting to see how the Team and the Captain fare.
4: AD BREAKS AND PEOPLE WATCHING
Will IPL 5 be able to grab the eyeballs like before? The television ratings dropped last year and are expected to drop further this year. Major sponsors like LG and Godrej have backed out, and some of the other sponsors have cut down their advertising budget by 80%. Despite all this, the broadcasters have decided not to offer any discount to the advertisers. So it would now be interesting to find out whether the Aam Admi puts a smile on the BCCI's face.
5: RAJEEV SHUKLA AS NEW CHAIRMAN
"I'm not as colourful as Modi," said Rajiv Shukla after he was appointed the chairman and commissioner of the IPL. True, Shukla may not have the flamboyance of a Lalit Modi but that's what makes the new IPL chief someone to look out for this IPL.
