In the first of its kind initiative the Karnataka Postal Circle on Sunday launched a commemorative stamp and envelop for Royal Challengers Bangalore. The single stamp is valued at Rs 5 bears the Royal Challengers Bangalore logo alongside a Cineraria flower. This is for RCB's eco-friendly initiatives. Led by Virat Kohli, RCB are one of the four teams in the IPL 8 play-offs.
Launched to accompany the stamp, was a special RCB envelop, with profile shots of three of RCB's key players, Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers and Kohli set in the foreground of the world's only solar powered cricket stadium -- Chinnaswamy Stadium, to recognize this season's Green Game -- RCB Players wear a green jersey instead of usual red RCB Jersey -- on May 17, 2015.
Commenting on the initiative, Chief Post Master General for Karnataka Circle, Ramanujan said, "This collection of stamps and envelops is in appreciation of RCB's efforts as a sports team in India, spreading the message of eco-friendly initiatives.
"They have been promoting 'Go Green' efforts for the last few years and hence we present them this stamp RCB's logo on it. It is a first of kind for any sports team within India and they deserve it as a recognition of their efforts towards saving the environment."

This contribution by the Postal Services to the country is a great complement to our commitment to being a carbon positive team," said RCB's vice-president, commercial operations, Russell Adams.
Available for sale will be 40,000 small envelops, 10,000 big envelops and 12,000 stamps at Rs 5 each.
