RCB did not get going while chasing the Kings XI total© BCCI
Royal Challengers Bangalore slumped to a shock defeat when Kings XI Punjab handed them a 22-run defeat at Mohali. Chasing 107 to win in a rain-curtailed game, the Royal Challengers batsmen couldn't get the ball off the square and were incapacitated by some brilliant Punjab bowling.
Earlier, the match was delayed due to incessant rain and was reduced to a 10-over affair. Winning the toss, Virat Kohli opted to bowl but Kings XI got off to a flying start. Wriddhiman Saha went on a rampage and the rest of the batsmen kept following his lead. At the end of their allotted 10 overs, the Kings posted a healthy 106/6.

00:35: That's it! RCB have somehow managed to lose this game. The Kings are happy, finally! They have beaten RCB by 22 runs.
Last time the Royal Challengers met the Kings XI, Chris Gayle hit a hundred of 46-balls. Then, Mitchell Starc took matters in his own hands to rip through the Punjab batting and handed them a massive defeat of 138 runs.
Since then, AB de Villiers have scored a hundred and Virat Kohli have been in ominous touch. If Punjab thought that they have had a difficult campaign, it might just get worst at Mohali.
Royal Challengers will set foot in Mohali with only one aim -- two points. Those two points not only takes them into the top two. Hence, Kohli's men would come out firing in all cylinders.
Punjab have been in shambles. Tonight they will miss the services of Mitchell Johnson and Shaun Marsh as well. However, they have pride at stake. Till now, nothing has worked for them and even glimpses of good form from Glenn Maxwell and David Miller hasn't done them any good. They have not played as a team, hence are languishing at the bottom of the table.
At Mohali, back in their own den, can the Kings XI roar against the kings of good times?
