BCCI member Rajeev Shukla spoke to reporters after England defeated India by 10 wickets at the Wankhede Stadium. "We will look into the reasons behind Team India's defeat against England in Mumbai Test," he said.
Yesterday, former India captain Sunil Gavaskar said selectors must speak to Tendulkar about his future plans as the 39-year old batsman was going through a long bad patch.
Shukla, however, jumped to Tendulkar's defence saying "he is a great batsman".
"Sachin Tendulkar doesn't need anyone's advice, important decisions cannot be taken only after one series," Shukla said.
Tendulkar has scored just 29 runs in three innings in the ongoing Test series against England.
