Often compared to Rahul Dravid for his solidness, composure, the stretched cover drive, the cut of the spinners and even the celebration after reaching the century, Pujara took 374 deliveries and hit 21 boundaries to bring up double hundred.
England had no answer for this Saurashtra batsman. India finally declared their innings at 521/8 while Pujara remained unbeaten on 206.
He had resumed batting on the second day with Yuvraj with his overnight score of 98 runs. He got to his second century after facing 190 deliveries and scoring thirteen boundaries.
Pujara, however, took lesser deliveries to score another hundred runs.
In contrast to Virender Sehwag's run-a-ball century that he scored yesterday, Pujara's knock has been a solid one if not flamboyant. He got good support from Sehwag and then Yuvraj Singh.
While England spinner Graeme Swann has troubled Indian batsmen and picked five wickets, Pujara has looked at ease against him and other bowlers.
