World Twenty20: Yuvraj Singh, spinners help unbeaten India rout Australia

It was a day when India's flamboyant middle-order batsman Yuvraj Singh roared back to form (All images AFP).

The Indian fans in the crowd were ecstatic as the typical flicks and cover drives were back in business.

The big six-hitting ability with panache also returned as a vintage Yuvraj turned back the clocks.

Yuvraj Singh's 60 off 43 balls did not just give him a much-needed improvement in form but also bailed India out of the early mess they were in, to post 159/7.

Indian skipper MS Dhoni scored 24 and added a vital 84-run stand for the fifth wicket with Yuvraj.

The Indian spinners, Ravichandran Ashwin in particular, were in the mood to complement the good show put up by the batsmen. Ashwin's 4/11 became the best bowling figures for an India in T20Is.

It was Glenn Maxwell who once again took up the responsibility of pulling Australia out of the wreakage. But he had no answer to this brilliantly-disguised carrom ball from Ashwin.

In a tournament where catches are being spilled left, right and center, India held on to each an every shot hit towards them.

Eight out of the 10 wickets were as a result of India's spectacular fielding (seven catches and one run out).

The Australians were bundled out for 86, handing India a massive 73-run win.
