Kazakhstan defeated Singapore 4-0 to register their first win in the FIH Women's Hockey World League Round 2 here on Sunday.
For Kazakhstan, who lost 8-0 to Malaysia on Saturday, Vera Domashneva (2nd minute, 28th), Natalya Sazontova (38th) and Olga Khonina (43rd) scored the goals.
Singapore is yet to taste a victory in the tournament so far having lost 7-0 to Russia in their opening match at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium.
Kazakhstan coach Serik Kalimbayev has expressed relief after registering the win.
"Today we played with good technique and tactics. We tried not to leave any loopholes but we did a few mistakes and need to work on our penalty corners. We will try to keep the momentum going and keep scoring in the coming matches," he said.
Kazakhstan will next play Russia while Singapore will face Malaysia on Tuesday.
