New Delhi:
Indian women outclassed their opponents from Azerbeijan 6-1, to advance into the quarter finals of the FIH Womens Champions Challenge at Dublin on Tuesday.
Skipper Saba Anjum fired three goals to set an example while the other three gaols were scored by Deepika Thakur (10th min penalty corner), Rani Rampal (18th) and Jasjit Kaur Handa (52nd min). Azerbeijan had no clue from the onset after Anjum set them two goals back within the opening seven minutes.
It was only in the 47th minute that Azerbeijan managed to salvage some of their now tattered pride when Khatira Aliyeva scored from a penalty corner. It was not good enough however, to stop the Indians from a splendid win.
