India's High Performance Director Roelant Oltmans promised his team will be a confident lot against the top teams of the world in the Champions Trophy hockey beginning here on Saturday.
"Only thing on our mind is to prepare ourselves as much as possible before the tournament because we don't know what other teams are doing. It is a very important tournament, where the top teams in the world are playing. We are planning our strategies according to the teams and we, as hosts, are confident to face them," said Oltmans ahead of India's opener against Germany on Saturday.
India, who had stunned Australia 3-1 in a bilateral series in Perth, lost to the world champions in a practice match here on Thursday.
Goalkeeper PR Sreejesh, who was India's hero at the Asian Games, insisted the team is well prepared.
"We are very confident after clinching a gold in Incheon Asian Games and are well prepared for the Champions Trophy. Pool B games are very important for us and confident of doing well in league matches. This is the last biggest hockey tournament in this year and our team is desperate to advance to the next stage," said Sreejesh.
