Rahil Gangjee dropped two late bogeys on 15th and 18th to finish third at Mylan Classic in one-under 70 here.
That took him to five-under and tied 33rd places, a marginal two places up from his overnight 35th in the Nationwide Tour event.
He birdied fourth, ninth and 11th and looked set to make a good move upward before the bogeys derailed him.
Defending champion Kevin Kisner was in a three-way tie for the 54-hole.
Kisner's even-par 71 at the Southpointe Golf Club left him right where he began the day, at 13-under par. Kisner was joined by John Mallinger, who birdied two of his final three holes for a 4-under 67, and England's Gary Christian (69).
Billy Hurley is in fourth place after a 2-under 69 at 12-under 201.
Kisner is looking to become the first player to successfully defend a title in the Nationwide Tour in its 22-year-old history.
