Jelena Jankovic on Sunday expressed her pride in the exploits of Serbian countryman Novak Djokovic, who comes into the French Open on the back of 37 straight wins since the start of 2011.
The 24-year-old world number two begins his campaign against Dutchman Thiemo De Bakker on Monday, as he hunts down John McEnroe's record of a 42-match unbeaten season start.
Jankovic breezed past Ukrainian Alona Bondarenko 6-3, 6-1 in her first-round match and said she had been spellbound by Djokovic's exploits since the turn of the year.
"It's really amazing, there's not much you can say," said the 26-year-old, a three-time semi-finalist at Roland Garros.
"He's had so much success since the beginning of the year. He's playing unbelievable tennis and has been unbeatable.
"I wish him good luck and hope he can continue in this way. As a fellow Serbian player, I'm really proud of him and how he's doing."
