Get set for new hues at the season-starting Formula One Grand Prix in Melbourne this weekend. While the drivers battle it out for a strong start to their campaign, fans may well have other (visual) interests at Albert Park - pit girls in their all new avatar!
On Tuesday, the pit girls showed off their new gears with emerald and white being the flavor of their casually crisp skirts, sleeveless tops and summery hats. In a report published in the Herald Sun, the girls are quoted as saying that the ensemble is sophisticated and sleek but not revealing - as some of the other uniforms of girls elsewhere usually are. In fact, the colour scheme is in tune with the Australian national colours and the design is a throwback to the commonly found style in the 1960s without appearing over 5 decades old.
"I think the trend has been more inclined for fashionistas out there than for the typical man," said a member of the pit girls' crew.
