London:
Virgin Racing driver Timo Glock could be forced to miss the final Formula One preseason test session after undergoing emergency surgery to remove his appendix.
After Glock was taken ill early Monday, team principal John Booth says "the procedure was routine."
The German is likely to remain in a Swiss hospital until Wednesday.
Booth says "to ensure a swift recovery, it is unlikely he will take part in next week's test in Barcelona."
The F1 season starts in Melbourne on March 27.
