Force India driver Adian Sutil said on Monday that he wants to renegotiate his contract with team boss Vijay Mallya at the earliest and not wait till December as the liquor baron wants him to do.
Sutil said that Mallya has promised to talk to him about his contract in December but the German is not eager to wait that long. Mallya has said that he would reveal the list of next year's drivers in December.
"I can't wait till December. I will speak to Vijay very soon and see what his ideas are. I don't need to wait so long for a seat. I think I know what I can do, so I don't feel insecure," said Sutil.
Sutil admitted that ownership patterns may change after Sahara India earlier this month bought 42.5 percent stakes of Force India's shares at $100 million, but hoped Mallya would remain the team boss.
"Vijay still is the man behind Force India. Ownership patterns may change but Vijay is very important for the team and he has also some racing background. That's very important in Formula One," said Sutil.
