Vitesse Arnhem got the second half of the season off to a flying start with victory against Feyenoord last weekend to lift them up to sixth in the Eredivisie. Victory against bottom-of-the-table RBC Roosendaal and they would move above Feyenoord and into fourth. And the home side got off to the best possible start in their Saturday's encounter with RBC Roosendaal. Far cornerSix minutes in, and Abubakari Yakubu picked out Purrel Frankel on the left side of the area - and the defender rifled the ball into the far corner. Vitesse should have equalised moments later but Igor Glusevic's header somehow blazed over the bar from four yards with the goal at his mercy. But if the home side thought it would be an easy evening they were soon given other ideas when Roosendaal equalised 15 minutes later. Confused defenders Tyrone Loran's pass somehow found its way through two confused defenders and to Donny de Groot, and the striker finished calmly from 10 yards. RBC could have gone ahead seconds after the restart but Vitesse goalkeeper Harald Wapenaar saved from Fouad Makhout. Shock lead Roosendaal fans did not have too long to wait before Ramon Luyten fired them into a shock lead after 63 minutes. The midfielder seized on a defensive mix-up between Peter van den Berg and Michael Dingsdag before unleashing a beautifully weighted shot from 25 metres/yards that cannoned in off the bar. The result was put beyond doubt in injury time when De Groot grabbed his second on the break after a pass from Jesper Hakansson. The win lifts from the bottom of the Eredivisie and above Den Bosch.
