FABREGAS WRAPS IT UP EARLY
A Cesc Fabregas strike inside four minutes proved enough to give Chelsea a 1-0 win over Swansea at the Liberty Stadium. N'Golo Kante stole possession from Andy King and fed Eden Hazard, who in turn found Fabregas on the edge of the penalty area. The Spaniard swept a curling strike beyond the dive of Lukasz Fabianski and into the far corner of the goal. Not much happened after that until the final quarter of the game; Andre Ayew and Tom Carroll curled shots just wide for Swansea, while Nathan Dyer shot straight at Thibaut Courtois from close range. The visitors could have extended their lead when Victor Moses somehow nudged a Fabregas pass wide from point-blank range, but in the end one goal proved enough.
90'
FULL TIME SWANSEA CITY 0 CHELSEA 1
The final whistle confirms a 1-0 win for Chelsea, which means Swansea end the day just a point above the relegation zone.
90'
AYEW'S MOMENT OF MADNESS
Cahill is incensed after being knocked to the ground by Jordan Ayew off the ball, and some strong words whip up a melee of shoving between players of both sides. Jon Moss breaks it up but really should have issued a card to the Swansea man; that was a violent act that could attract post-match disciplinary action.
90'
ANOTHER CHANCE GOES BEGGING
Swansea could easily be in the lead by now; this time it's Wayne Routledge who gets a clear sight of goal from inside the area, but the winger hits his half-volley into the ground and too near to Courtois, who makes the save.
89'
SO CLOSE FROM CARROLL
Cahill's clearance is diverted to Carroll by Clucas, and the substitute sends a great effort skidding agonisingly wide of the far post.
86'
STRAIGHT AT THE KEEPER
Alfie Mawson eases past N'Golo Kante and takes aim from 20 yards, but the centre back's shot is straight at the goalkeeper. Time is running out now for the embattled hosts.
85'
Substitution
Alvaro Morata (on). Olivier Giroud (off). (Chelsea)
85'
SUBSTITUTION
Giroud has put himself about today and is rewarded with an ovation as he makes way for Alvaro Morata.
83'
SAFE HANDS
Bakayoko finds space on the right flank and dinks a cross into the centre towards Giroud, who's beaten in the air by the gloves of Fabianski.
81'
Substitution
Pedro (on). Cesc Fabregas (off). (Chelsea)
81'
SUBSTITUTIONS
It's changes galore as both managers shuffle their packs; Carlos Carvalhal sends on Wayne Routledge for Martin Olsson, while Antonio Conte freshens up his attack with the introduction of Willian and Pedro for Cesc Fabregas and Eden Hazard.
81'
Substitution
Wayne Routledge (on). Martin Olsson (off). (Swansea City)
81'
Substitution
Willian (on). Eden Hazard (off). (Chelsea)
80'
WIDE FROM HAZARD
Giroud climbs high to head a Fabregas chipped pass down to Hazard, who gets his shot all wrong, dragging it low and several yards wide.
78'
SWANSEA PRESSING
Kyle Naughton charges onto a loose ball to hit a 20-yard half-volley that's cleanly struck but makes a fairly simple save for Courtois. Moments later Nathan Dyer is felled by Cahill inside the box, but the ref waves away the hosts' frantic protests. It was the correct decision as the sometime England defender's slide tackle was perfectly timed.
77'
AYEW CURLS ONE
Tom Carroll places a first-time pass into the feet of Andre Ayew, who drops his shoulder just outside the box before curling a delicate effort around both Gary Cahill and the left-hand post.
73'
END TO END STUFF
The game has suddenly become extremely open; Chelsea respond to that Jordan Ayew chance by heading straight up the other end, where Fabregas rolls a pass into Victor Moses, who somehow nudges his finish the wrong side of the post from point-blank range.
72'
AYEW GOES CLOSE
Sam Clucas' corner from the right is headed straight up in the air by Olivier Giroud. Thibaut Courtois charges from his line but fails to reach the dropping ball ahead of Jordan Ayew, whose header drops just over the bar.
71'
WHAT A RUN!
Emerson Palmieri tears up the pitch from left back, carrying the ball all the way to the edge of the Swansea box but failing to generate enough power in his 18-yard shot to trouble Lukasz Fabianski.
68'
NOWHERE NEAR
Cesar Azpilicueta passes short to Tiemoue Bakayoko, who lumbers into the area and drags a lacklustre effort comfortably wide.
66'
NO HURRY
Swansea continue to look assured in possession but there's an odd lack of urgency to their play; you'd never think they needed a goal to stave off relegation.
63'
Substitution
Tom Carroll (on). Connor Roberts (off). (Swansea City)
63'
SUBSTITUTION
Connor Roberts has put in a decent performance on his first Premier League start but has visibly tired over the last 15minutes, so it's time for the wing back to make way for Tom Carroll.
7'
CAHILL SAVES THE DAY
Connor Roberts, who is playing at right wing back, gets up the touchline and conjures a dangerous low ball that Gary Cahill has to hack away just before it can reach Andre Ayew.
62'
CARELESS CROSSING
Cesc Fabregas receives a pass down the line from Gary Cahill and decides to cross, but it's another poor delivery from the Spaniard, who can't force the ball past Mike van der Hoorn at the near post.
58'
Substitution
Nathan Dyer (on). Andy King (off). (Swansea City)
58'
SUBSTITUTION
Carlos Carvalhal makes the first change of the afternoon, introducing Nathan Dyer for Andy King in an effort to create more attacking impetus.
43'
BLUES CONTROL
Chelsea have a stranglehold on possession right now, with Swansea having failed to get a touch for the last few minutes.
40'
SWANS SWIMMING
The rain is absolutely tipping down here at the Liberty Stadium, and it must feel to Swansea like the elements are against their fight to stay in the division.
37'
MAWSON ON PATROL
Fabregas goes close to playing Giroud in on goal after a give-and-go from the France striker, but Mawson is alert to the danger and steps in at the last moment.
34'
BALANCE OF POWER
The play feels fairly balanced right now, with neither team dominating. Swansea certainly look capable of getting back into this game.
31'
ANTICLIMAX
Ki steps up to take the resulting free kick, but it's a poor one that bounces safely to Courtois.
30'
Yellow Card
Victor Moses (Chelsea)
30'
YELLOW CARD
Moses picks up a somewhat harsh booking for a late (but only just) trip on Olsson.
4'
GOAL!!! CHELSEA
The visitors carve through Swansea with a lovely goal. N'Golo Kante steals possession form Andy King and passes quickly to Eden Hazard, who bursts away from Sung-Yueng Ki to set up CESC FABREGAS. The Spain midfielder strokes a left-footed effortlessly into the corner of the net from 18 yards.
29'
GIROUD MISSES IT
Another magnificent Hazard pass sends Moses into space on the right, and the winger plays a low cross into the danger area, where Giroud inexplicably fails to get a touch.
27'
ATTACK!
The crowd whistle their frustration as King chooses to pass backwards to Olsson in the midst of a promising break, but in fairness there were no clear options at that moment.
24'
DODGY TOUCH
Hazard releases Fabregas on the right with an excellent pass, but the former Arsenal man's usually magic touch deserts him as he fails to lift his cross over Mike van der Hoorn.
21'
OFF THE BAR
Mawson very nearly scores an own goal, sticking his foot out instinctively as a Giroud knockdown flashes past him and sending the ball bouncing off the top of the crossbar.
18'
CHELSEA PRESSING
Moses uses all his strength to hold off the challenge of Martin Olsson as he dribbles into the box, the Nigerian eventually releasing a shot that bounces off Alfie Mawson's back to spin wide. Mawson leaps to get his head to the corner just ahead of Olivier Giroud, inadvertently flicking the ball to the back post, where Kante can't adjust his body in time to convert the chance.
15'
Yellow Card
Andre Ayew (Swansea City)
15'
YELLOW CARD
Andre Ayew lunges in on Emerson Palmieri over by the touchline. The tackle doesn't make contact, but Palmieri still jumps up in the air, prompting referee Jon Moss to issue an early yellow card.
2'
HARMLESS HEADER
Sam Clucas gets an early chance to whip a free kick into the area following a foul by Tiemoue Bakayoko, but Jordan Ayew's flick-on loops harmlessly through to Thibaut Courtois in the Chelsea goal.
4'
Goal
Cesc Fabregas. Assist by Eden Hazard (Chelsea)
12'
BORN SLIPPY
Victor Moses enters the penalty area on the right and accepts the invitation to play the ball in as the defenders sit off. The pass rolls nicely to Hazard, who prepares to smash the ball home from close range but slips as he pulls the trigger, sending the shot into a defender.
10'
IT'S GETTING TIGHT
This game has been lent greater significance by Southampton's surprising win against Bournemouth earlier this afternoon, a result that leaves Swansea just one point ahead of their relegation rivals.

CHELSEA TEAM NEWS
Antonio Conte makes just one change to the team that beat Southampton in the FA Cup, with Tiemoue Bakayoko coming in for Willian. Marcos Alonso completes a three-match suspension, while Danny Drinkwater is not quite ready to return from a groin strain.

SWANSEA TEAM NEWS
Carlos Carvalhal has made two changes to the side that lost 5-0 to Manchester City; Tom Carroll makes way for Sam Clucas, while at the back youngster Connor Roberts replaces the injured Federico Fernandez. Luciano Narsingh and Kyle Bartley are sidelined by ankle and knee problems respectively, but Renato Sanches has recovered from a hamstring injury to make the bench.

SWANSEA CITY V CHELSEA
Swansea have the chance to finally put some distance between themselves and the relegation zone if they can beat Chelsea in this afternoon's late kick off. Manager Carlos Carvalhal has done superbly to lift the Swans to a position near safety after arriving part-way through the season, but they've stumbled of late with five winless matches in a row. They're at least strong at home, having gone unbeaten in five games on their own turf, so the Blues won't be expecting a walkover. With manager Antonio Conte reportedly having begun negotiations with other clubs, Chelsea are in danger of losing focus as they try to keep their slim hopes of Champions League qualification alive. Join me, Luke Ostler, at 5.30pm BST for all the action from the Liberty Stadium.
57'
MOMENT OF MAGIC
Andre Ayew gets the crowd on their feet with a delightful dragback and backheel to squeeze the ball between two Chelsea players to Kyle Naughton.
54'
SWANS FLYING
The hosts are enjoying their best spell of the afternoon, knocking the ball around with composure inside the Chelsea half.
51'
CHANCE FOR SWANSEA
Swansea create their finest moment of the game so far as Martin Olsson bends a superb cross into the penalty area from the left wing. Andre Ayew is oh so close to getting his head to the ball, but it's Antonio Rudiger who makes contact to nod it behind.
48'
SIMPLE SAVE
Sung-Yueng Ki sends Sam Clucas scampering into the right channel with a canny free kick, creating room for the midfielder to hang up a cross to the back post, where Alfie Mawson meets it with a looping header that Thibaut Courtois saves without much difficulty.
46'
SECOND HALF
The teams are back out and the second half is underway, with neither manager having made any changes at the break.
45'
EARLY SPARK FAILS TO IGNITE
Chelsea made a blistering start with a goal inside four minutes from Cesc Fabregas, but after that a balanced game generated few chances. Just three minutes were on the clock when Eden Hazard found Fabregas on the edge of the penalty area, and the Spaniard swept a curling strike into the far corner of the goal. The Blues continued to press, and Alfie Mawson almost scored an own goal when the defender diverted Olivier Giroud's knockdown onto the top of the crossbar. Swansea improved after that and made several forays into Chelsea territory but without creating a real opening. They need to do more if this isn't to become another loss; stay tuned for all the action after the break.
45'
HALF TIME SWANSEA CITY 0 CHELSEA 1
We've reached the break here at the Liberty Stadium, where Chelsea hold a one-nil advantage over Carlos Carvalhal's side.
