Full time
The referee blows the whistle to pull the curtain down on this exciting game. Outstanding. FC Goa played football of the highest quality and have completely decimated Mumbai City FC. They headed into the halftime break with a goal advantage and then doubled it in the first 10 minutes of the second half. From there on, the Mumbai defense was put under the cosh with some relentless attacking game by the Gaurs. Edu Bedia's beautiful goal made it 3-0 in the 61st minute and then in the dying stage, Miguel Fernandez, after coming from the bench, nailed a brace to complete the domination. Mumbai City FC were listless at both ends of the pitch and will be deeply disappointed with their overall game. A loss like this will hurt their confidence badly and Jorge Costa has his work cut out to motivate his boys. Courtesy this ruthless victory, FC Goa have now jumped to the top of the points table.
90'
What a save!
Paulo Machado steps up to take a free kick from just outside the box. He does well to get it over the wall but Mohammad Nawaz jumps to tip it over the bar. The resulting corner doesn't bother the Goa defense much.

Added time
4 minutes added more in this half. Any more goal left to be scored?
90'
GOOOALLLL
This is turning out to be a humiliation for Mumbai City FC! Ahmed Jahouh with a superb tackle at the right flank on Pranjal Bhumij. He then swings it at the far post to find Miguel Fernandez who makes no mistake in slotting it past the keeper. Not often you see someone getting a brace after coming off the bench in the 82nd minute.

GOOOOALLLL
4-0! A complete domination by FC Goa. Manvir Singh making his presence felt after coming from the bench. He finds himself with the ball inside the box and does well to set Miguel Fernandez up who is completely unmarked. The Portuguese taps it in front and then blasts it at the back of the net.

Mumbai under pressure
Carlos Pena with a neat forward pass finds Ferran Corominas. The Spaniard sprints forward and chips a cross over the keeper at the face of goal. Shouvik Ghosh does well to make a clearance at the very last minute as the ball was headed in.

Nearlyyyy
Edu Bedia almost had his brace. Ferran Corominas is relentless whenever he is inside the box. With a good touch, he nudges the ball at the feet of Bedia, who tries to find the target with his left foot kick but misses.

Another penalty shout...
Not given. Ferran Corominas it is once again. He is brought down by Subhasish Bose who catches him on the left leg at the edge of the box. Coro falls down, they appeal for a penalty but the referee continues without paying much attention. Mumbai City FC very lucky to get away with this one.
74'
Just over
Mumbai not able to hit the target. Sauvik Chakrabarti with a cross inside the 18-yard box. Modou Sougou tries to put it in with a header but hits it wide. Mohammad Nawaz gets a yellow card for time wasting as he was delaying the goalkick.

What was he doing?
Paulo Machado has a surging run inside the box but is very late in releasing his shot. Probably, he was in two minds there, whether to pass it on or go for the shot himself. That's why he was very late in taking his kick. And when eventually he does, it's off target and brushes the side-netting.

GOOOALLLL
Make it 3-0. A stunning goal by Edu Bedia. He might be struggling with his set-pieces but he has absolutely nailed this shot. Ferran Corominas once again making his presence felt. He squares the ball to Edu Bedia who smashes it at the back of the net with his out-foot. No chance for Amrinder Singh.

GOOOOALLLL
Goa are now 2-0 ahead! They deserve this lead. Superb piece of football by the home team. Seriton Fernandes runs forward with the ball on the right side and then sends in a good cross right at the face of goal. Jackichand Singh is waiting for it in the middle and just deflects it at the far post.

Shout for a penalty!
Ferran Corominas is brought down inside the box by Subhasish Bose and the striker stands up screaming for a penalty. The ref has none of it.
53'
Lovely clearance
Jackichand Singh with an excellent cross right at the face of goal. But before any of his teammate reaches it, Subhasish Bose makes the clearance. The resulting corner isn't a good one.
48'
Good move
...but straight to the keeper. A one-to-one by Hugo Boumous. He nudges it to Ahmed Jahouh but the return pass is intercepted. However, the ball once again falls to Boumous, who hits it straight to the keeper.
46'
Early break for Goa
Hugo Boumous steams forward with the ball on the right but Subhasish Bose senses the danger and does extremely well to make the clearance.
46'
Underway again
FC Goa get the first touch on the ball and they play it behind to keep possession.
Half time
The referee blows the whistle to mark the end of this half. We witnessed some end-to-end action in the first 45 and the 7th-minute penalty by Ferran Corominas is separating the two sides. FC Goa were relentless with their attack and had Coro not missed a sitter in the 41st minute, it would have been 2-0. Mumbai City FC were found wanting at the back whenever the hosts built an attack and they are lucky not to concede any goal from open play. It's not as if the visiting team didn't have the chance but they were very ordinary in the attacking third. They will need to pull up their socks and come out with a better strategy in the next half. Do join us in a short while.
45'
Added time
1 minute has been added to this half. Can Mumbai City FC find the equalizer?
45'

Mumbai have the free kick and Paulo Machado takes it. He hits the wall and the ball lobs towards Sehnaj Singh who tries to head it away. It has gone away from the target.

Goa knocking on the door
Yet another move in the attacking third by FC Goa. This time Hugo Boumous has the ball at his feet. He goes for a long range shot but hits it wide of the post. That was inches away.
41'
Should have been 2-0
Oh dear! FC Goa have missed probably the best chance of this half. Jackichand Singh, who has been very active with his attack in the opposition half, once again puts in a surging run inside the penalty area. He lays it off for Ferran Corominas but the Spaniard fails to get his kick away on time after a heavy first touch.
36'
Mumbai with the free kick
Paulo Machado takes this free kick from almost near the half line. He loops it inside the box but an easy clearance for the Goa defense.
34'
Too long
Edu Bedia takes a free kick from 30-yards out but hits it way over the goal post. Should be doing better with the set-piece.
31'
Wayward
Once again Mumbai fail to convert. Subhasish Bose with a superb ball to Rafael Bastos, who charges inside the box and then tries to kick it with his right foot. Fails to make proper connection and drags it wide. Should have done better, at least should have tested the Goa keeper.
25'
Relentless attack by Goa
A great stop by Amrinder Singh! Hugo Boumous with an excellent run inside the box finds Jackichand Singh to his right with a good through pass. Singh smacks it on target but Amrinder is equally up to the challenge as he punches it out.
22'
Excellent move
Ferran Corominas with a cheeky pass to his left to Jackichand Singh who drills in his cross but finds no one there. The ball rolls on the other side and once again it's swung inside the box from there. Jackichand comes into the picture once more, tries to pass it at the face of goal but Lucian Goian makes a nice block and then Sehnaj Singh kicks it out of danger.
21'
Free kick for FC Goa
After the foul committed by Sehnaj Singh on the right, FC Goa have been awarded a free kick. Edu Bedia takes it but hits the wall with his kick. The ball lands at the feet of Seriton Fernandes on the right flank but his attempted cross is also blocked.
17'
Midfield battle
After an edge of the seat start to the game, things have calmed down a bit with the home team playing the ball in the midfield and keeping possession.
15'
A good cross
Arnold Issoko with a nice loopy ball inside the box but Lucian Goian fails to keep his header on target. Mumbai need to get better with their finishing. They are already lagging behind.
7'
GOOALLLL
Ferran Corominas nails it. The Spaniard just runs forward and chips it at the centre of goal as Amrinder Singh dives to his left in anticipation. Cool as a cucumber. FC Goa in the lead.

Penalty for FC Goa
Sauvik Chakrabarti with the foul. After the corner earned by Mumbai City FC was cleared by the FC Goa defenders, Hugo Boumous gets the possession of the ball. He sprints on the break, a great run by the midfielder and then he does well to find Ferran Corominas to his left. The forward charges inside the box and Sauvik Chakrabarti senses the danger and tries to tackle him from behind. It's not a neat one as he catches Coro on the leg. The ref immediately signals for the penalty. Yellow for the defender as well.

Golden chance missed
Mumbai City FC should have done better. A lovely ball inside the 18-yard box by Paulo Machado. It falls to Subhasish Bose at the far post who fails to find the target.

Seriton Fernandes with a surging run forward from the right flank. He breaks inside the penalty and then tries to find his partner on the left with a cross. However, Milan Singh is alert and makes the clearance.

The Wednesday Clash!
Hello and welcome everyone for Match 17 of the Indian Super League 2018/19 between FC Goa and Mumbai City FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Goa. Both teams are placed in the middle of the points table, having 4 points apiece. After an ordinary start to the season, the visiting team finally tasted their first success in the last match against FC Pune City. Their attack line hasn't delivered as per the plans and they will hope that the penalty converted by Rafael Bastos will give him the much-needed rhythm going forward. Also, there is plenty of scope for improvement at the back. The Gaurs, on the other hand, have made a decent start to their campaign this year and they too got their first three points in the last match against Chennaiyin FC. They possess a strong frontline which has already nailed five goals in 2019. Ferran Corominas continues to show good form, carrying from the last season and he seems unstoppable in front of goal. Like their opponents this evening, FC Goa also need to show improvement in their defense as it has been a bit leaky. It won't be wrong to say that the team with a better performance at the back will come out trumps. Let's hope for a cracking game.
