FCG rise on top!
FCG opened the scoring in the second minute of the game via Iker Guarrotxena's finish in front of the goal. The hosts showed a lot of creativity and doubled the lead via Noah Wail Sadaoui's strike in the twelfth minute of the game. Upon resumption, it was JFC that created plenty of chances and came close to scoring their first. FCG managed to survive that spell of pressure by JFC without conceding a goal. Brison Fernandes put the final nail in the coffin in added time with his first Hero ISL goal. Aidy Boothroyd kept bringing in changes in his quest to find a goal, but JFC found it difficult to find inspiration in the final third tonight. So, it is FCG that collect all three points from their first home game of the Hero ISL 2022-23 season. JFC will be disappointed with this performance and will now shift their focus towards their next game against Hyderabad FC.

An intriguing half!
FCG went ahead in the second minute of the game courtesy of Iker Guarrotxena slotting it home from a corner. The hosts doubled the lead ten minutes later when Noah Wail Sadaoui's strike found the back of the net. JFC looked rattled due to the early goals and as a result, they were unable to create much chances. FCG had a couple of chances to score their third but could not make it count. FCG will be hopeful of putting the game to bed early on in the second half. Whereas Aidy Boothroyd and his men will hope to capitalize on their chances in the second half and restore parity.

WOW! FC Goa double their lead inside 12 minutes. Although, all the credit goes to Brandon Fernandes to set up with a perfect through ball. Fernandes gets the ball near the halfway line and sees the run of Noah Wail Sadaoui in front of him and puts in a delicious through ball forward. Noah Wail Sadaoui gets at the end of it and sends it to the right bottom corner. JFC need to find their groove before it gets too late.

Jamshedpur FC (Starting XI)
Rehenesh TP (GK), Ricky Lallawmawma, Eli Sabia, Peter Hartley (C), Laldinliana Renthlei, Jitendra Singh, Wellington Cirino Priori, Boris Singh, Ritwik Das, Daniel Chukwu, Farukh Choudhary.
After playing their first 3 games away from home, FCG are back in Goa and will look to use the home conditions and support to their advantage. FCG didn't have their best campaign in Hero ISL 2021-22 as they finished 9th in the league but they seemed to have turned a new leaf. FCG have pretty much kept the same core but look more potent in front of goal than they did in Hero ISL 2021-22. They already have had 2 wins out of 3 away games which is a great return and will now look to snatch all three points off a JFC team that hasn't quite hit their best form yet. Talking about JFC, they finished 24 points ahead of their opponents in Hero ISL 2021-22 and won both their league fictures against FCG without much fuss. Having lost their star player and their coach ahead of Hero ISL 2022-23, it was always going to be tough for them. They have been able to get their first win on the board and a win here could take them a point ahead of FCG as well. So, all to play for as every team will feel that getting early wins on the board will help ease the pressure later on in the competition.
Matchweek 5!
It is now time for Matchweek 5 in the Hero ISL 2022-23 to get underway and the first fixture in this matchweek is between FC Goa and Jamshedpur FC to be played at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Goa. Both FCG and JFC have played 3 matches each whereas most teams in the league have already played 4 matches. The two teams are in the middle of the points table with a couple of points separating them. FCG have won a couple of matches but suffered a loss at the hands of HFC in their last encouter. On the other hand, JFC managed to pick up their first win of the campaign against a struggling NEUFC side last time around and hence have a bit of momentum coming into this clash. FCG, even with that loss, have been a better side than their oppoenents thus far and will hope to get back to winning ways. JFC did finish atop the points table in Hero ISL 2021-22 and would want that previous win over NEUFC to serve as a catalyst for better things to come. Will either side be able to bag all 3 points?
