FC Goa storm to the top
Three goals and a clean sheet make sure the Gaurs are on top of the ISL table. The hosts eased their way into the match. After measuring up Chennaiyin FC, the Goans flexed their footballing muscles to boss the possession and then came the first goal in the 30th minute. Thereafter, the Gaurs never looked back. In the second half also, FC Goa maintained their upper hand and never allowed Chennaiyin FC any opening. The hosts scored the second goal, courtesy Coro, to snuff out the little bit of resistance shown by the visitors. After utterly dominating till the end, Carlos Pena's first ISL goal and FC Goa's third of the game meant curtains for the touring team.

FC Goa ahead!
Brilliant half of attacking football! It's always expected with FC Goa in action. They started a bit cautiously but then got into their groove. Slowly but steadily, the Gaurs made a few brilliant moves and in the 30th minute, a deflection off Seiminlen Doungel put the hosts in the lead. Post that, Goa got the momentum and looked very dangerous with their attack. Chennaiyin FC were not too penetrative and apart from Lallianzuala Chhangte's attempt on goal in the 25th minute, there wasn't any notable moment. They need to pull up their socks in the next half as FC Goa will come hard at them again. Do join us in a short while.
45'
Ending the half on the up!
Dragos Firtulescu drives into the area from the left. His shot is only blocked to Dhanpal Ganesh at the edge of the penalty area. The meek shot is well off target and FC Goa get a goal kick. That'll be the last bit of action to make note of in this half.
43'
Chennaiyin FC under pressure
Vishal Kaith makes a fine save. Ferran Corominas in the penalty area gets the ball, smacks a low shot with his right foot to the near post. Kaith dives to his left to make a good low save.
42'
Off target
Good attempt though! Seriton Fernandes runs forward from the midfield and sneaks in a pass to his left to Brandon Fernandes. Brandon takes a long range shot but it goes well over the bar!
38'
Manvir Singh, the magician
FC Goa's No. 9 is pulling the strings. Swivels and teases his way through to set up Jackichand Singh on the right of the penalty area. The No.12 cuts in to his left and takes a shot. It's blocked and cleared to safety.
36'
Bossing it
A spell of persistent Goan pressure ends in a Chennaiyin FC free kick.
30'
GOAL!
FC Goa draw first blood! It was on the cards and it has duly come. Manvir Singh scampers into the Chennaiyin penalty area with the ball. He drives towards the byline and pokes in a pass in front of goal. Eli Sabia sadly can't sort his feet out in time as he tries to clear this. Ends up putting it on a plate for Seiminlen Doungel, who taps it in and scores. The replays show that it wasn't even a tap in, just a deflection of Doungel's foot. Lucky.

Dragos Firtulescu takes the corner from the right side and curls it inside the box. Eli Sabia jumps the highest at the far end and tries to head it on target but Mohammad Nawaz blocks it out.
20'
First save of the day!
You guessed it, FC Goa force the first save. Manvir Singh receives it in the opposition's penalty area, then blasts a low stinging strike to the left of Vishal Kaith. Chennaiyin FC's stopper makes a good stop.
19'

A counter attack from Chennaiyin FC. After a move from FC Goa is blocked out, Dragos Firtulescu gets the ball and breaks free. He is on the run, enters the 18-yard box but Seriton Fernandes puts a tackle on him from behind. Dragos is down and appealing for a penalty but the referee turns it down. That's a close call!

Preview - Match 4
Game no. 4 of the ISL and it sees a clash between FC Goa and Chennaiyin FC in the former's den. The visitors had a sorry last campaign finishing at the bottom. This time around though they would want to start their season off in a good manner. However, they are up against a strong, strong FC Goa side who were the runner-up in the last edition. Goa are probably favourites as they are playing at home but the visitors can surely give them a run for their money. On paper, the Gaurs are a more stable unit while Chennaiyin FC have a new-look side yet to deliver on the field. Both teams have won 6 games apiece in the H2H battle but the home team will be favourites due to their dominating forward line. Expect a cracking contest.
