Dele Alli defied his critics to score twice as Tottenham beat Chelsea 3-1 at Stamford Bridge. The playmaker's first arrived in the 62nd minute, and what a beauty it was, the playmaker plucking Eric Dier's long pass out of the sky and knocking it past Willy Caballero in one fluid movement. Just four minutes later Alli had his brace, prodding home from close range after Heung-Min Son's shot was saved and Andreas Christensen and Marcos Alonso got in each other's way as they tried to clear the rebound. It was Chelsea who had earlier taken the lead after 29 minutes when Victor Moses produced an outswinging cross from the right, the curl proving enough to sucker Hugo Lloris into coming out to punch and missing, leaving Alvaro Morata to head into an unguarded goal. Christian Eriksen left it until first-half stoppage time to dip a 25-yard strike over the head of Willy Caballero, who inexplicably failed to jump, setting up Spurs for a second half to remember.

It's all over; Tottenham have beaten Chelsea at Stamford Bridge for the first time in the Premier League era. Their 3-1 win lifts them eight points above their London rivals.
90'
LAST CHANCE
Azpilicueta can only connect awkwardly with his chest as Fabregas' cross comes in, taking the ball wide. That must be it now.
90'
BORN SLIPPY
Vertonghen gets all the way forward into the opposing penalty area and dribbles skilfully around the side of Antonio Rudiger, only to slip as he goes to pull the ball back from the byline.

NOT QUITE OVER YET
Harry Kane takes the ball into the corner as Spurs see out the game, although many of the home fans have decided it's all over already and are streaming for the exits.
Each manager makes a very late change; Chelsea send on youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi for Morata, while Spurs replace Lamela with Moussa Sissoko.
9'
NOWHERE NEAR
Christian Eriksen curls in a corner from the right, and the ball takes a couple of ricochets before falling to Jan Vertonghen, who messes up his shot on the turn, the effort bobbling sadly wide.

Substitution
Moussa Sissoko (on). Erik Lamela (off). (Tottenham Hotspur)
86'
HORROR TACKLE
Vertonghen leaves Hazard in a heap with a scything tackle that takes none of the ball and a lot of the shin, and you have to assume the ref was unsighted not to even give a foul. It's just fortunate that Hazard's standing leg was not properly planted; and remember those two will be World Cup teammates.

Substitution

FANS REACT
Hazard bursts into the area and goes to ground under pressure from Lamela, but only the crowd react. The players' lack of protest helps the referee to take no notice.
78'
SHOCK ALL ROUND
Sanchez kicks air when trying to clear a bouncing ball, allowing it to run through to N'Golo Kante, but the miniature dynamo looks just as surprised as his opponent and allows the opportunity to go begging.
76'
ROUGH BUT NOT READY
Cesar Azpilicueta and Alvaro Morata try to fashion a path through the Tottenham defence with some delicate passing, but the latter's touch seems too rough and the ball ends up bouncing harmlessly through to Hugo Lloris.
74'
Substitution
Harry Kane (on). Son Heung-Min (off). (Tottenham Hotspur)
74'
SUBSTITUTION
At this point you wouldn't think Mauricio Pochettino would want to risk Harry Kane's ankle, but risk it he does as Tottenham's top scorer is sent on for Son.
72'
RISKY BUSINESS
Jan Vertonghen somehow manages to deflect Fabregas' low cross over his own crossbar from almost underneath it. A moment of real defensive skill.

GOAL!!! TOTTENHAM
Eric Dier glances up and launches a terrific pass out of defence, the ball sailing over the Chelsea defence towards DELE ALLI. The England international plucks it out of the air and knocks his finish calmly past the onrushing Willy Caballero to nestle in the net. A goal of rare beauty that reminds us of just what this young man is capable of.
60'
SON DENIED
Dele Alli pokes a pass to his right for Heung-Min Son, who moves infield and aims for the top corner with a bending attempt from 18 yards. Willy Caballero shows he can pull off a save with a full-length dive to tip the goalbound effort around the post.

DODGY KEEPERS ALL ROUND
It's been a feisty and even encounter so far, with goalkeeping errors gifting a goal to each side. Chelsea's arrived after 29 minutes when Victor Moses produced an outswinging cross from the right, the curl proving enough to sucker Lloris into coming out to punch and missing, leaving Alvaro Morata to head into an unguarded goal. Tottenham had started the game the stronger and went close through Christian Eriksen and Jan Vertonghen, but the hosts' influence grew, and soon Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso were testing Lloris before Morata made his mark. Eriksen had the last word, dipping a 25-yard strike over the head of Willy Caballero, who inexplicably failed to jump. Stay tuned for all the action after the break.

45'

MOSES HURT
Victor Moses has to leave the pitch for treatment after Mousa Dembele accidentally treads on the wing back following a 50-50, but eventually he's cleared to continue.

TOO SLOW
Eden Hazard plays a lovely ball into space for Alonso, but the former Bolton defender isn't quite quick enough to get his shot away before Sanchez gets across to cover.
42'
SUPER SAVE
Alonso enters the penalty area from the left and shoots low across Lloris, who gets down quickly to make an excellent reaction save. The rebound almost squirts to Morata, but Vertonghen is on hand to stretch and hook it clear.
40'
SURPRISE STINGER
Eriksen weaves left and right 20 yards from goal before surprising everybody with a piledriver of a strike that's straight at Caballero but still forces the shocked stopper into a fumble. The Argentine is fortunate that no Tottenham player is near enough to follow up.
36'
CONTE ERUPTS
Antonio Conte explodes on the sidelines after Morata and Vertonghen fall to the turf while tussling for the ball, but it looked like there was fault on both sides.
33'
BRAVE GOALKEEPING
Dele Alli's dinked pass takes a deflection to bounce temptingly into Christian Eriksen's path, only for Willy Caballero to charge from his line and smash the ball away. In doing so the Chelsea reserve keeper takes a hefty blow from the oncoming Eriksen, meaning he requires treatment for a moment.

GOAL!!! CHELSEA
N'Golo Kante switches play out to Victor Moses on the right flank, and the wing back delivers a lovely outswinging cross. GOAL DISALLOWED
Marcos Alonso volleys home from a Cesc Fabregas ball into the box, but the flag had correctly gone up for offside.

WILLIAN DENIED
Eden Hazard holds off the challenge of Davinson Sanchez to dribble along the edge of the box and pass square to Willian. The Brazil forward shimmies to his left and produces a venomous shot that draws a decent low save from Hugo Lloris.
16'
FACE TO ARM
Christensen rolls around on the turf clutching his face following a battle for a high ball with Erik Lamela, the Dane eventually clambering gingerly to his feet. Lamela's forearm did connect with Christensen's chin, but his eyes were on the ball, so the ref takes no action.

CHELSEA V TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR
Usually it's relegation scraps that are described as ‘six-pointers', but in this case it's qualification for the Champions League that's at stake as Chelsea, with 56 points on the board, battle to stay in touch with their London rivals, who have 61. In the run-up to this game Blues boss Antonio Conte has described Spurs as a club as being ahead of Chelsea, but then he's said that about practically every other team this season. Certainly if Mauricio Pochettino's side were able to win the two games in hand they have over third-placed Liverpool their top-four credentials would look far superior. There's never any love lost between these two teams, so we should be in for a feisty encounter. Join me, Luke Ostler, at 4pm BST for all the action from Stamford Bridge.
