In a first for the Brazilian league, Indian player Romeo Fernandes enjoyed a successful debut in his club Atletico Paranaense's thrashing of Nacional.
The 22-year-old, who joined Atletico last year after impressing in the Indian Super League with FC Goa, came on midway through the second half of Saturday's 5-0 win in the Parana state league.
The club made special mention of him on their website as the first Indian to feature in a Brazilian league match.
Fernandes, from Assolna in Goa state, arrived in February having starred during a loan spell for Goa under former Brazil star Zico after starting out with Dempo Sports Club, also in Goa state.
An under-23 international who has broken into the full squad, he features primarily as a winger.
Fernandes joined Atletico after the Brazilians inked a training partnership accord with the All India Football Federation last year.
