Berlin:
Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng was on Thursday banned for three matches following his red card against FC Schalke 04.
Boateng committed a professional foul against Sidney Sam in the 17th minute of the 1-1 draw in a Bundesliga match, reports Xinhua.
The German Football Federation (DFB) said Boateng was suspended by its disciplinary tribunal for unsporting behaviour. He will miss Bayern's visits to VfB Stuttgart and SC Paderborn 07 and a home match against SV Hamburg.
